Here - Despite All - Svetlina Discovers Patience

Here-Despite All is the second book in the Escape Home trilogy, blending magical realism with emotional storytelling for readers aged 6–12. While the first book explores identity and belonging, this sequel turns its focus toward friendship, acceptance, bullying and the quiet strength of patience. Through mysterious encounters that blur the line between reality and imagination, the story gently reveals how fear and vulnerability often lie behind anger and conflict.

For this book, I developed a graphic illustration style enriched with a vibrant green accent color. Green becomes a visual metaphor for growth, nature and emotional healing, reflecting Leila's deep connection with plants and Svetlina's gradual transformation. Like a seed that needs time to grow, patience becomes the force that calms the "lava" inside the heroine, allowing new friendships and understanding to blossom.
